Employee Spotlight: Brittni Liebhauser, Clinician

Authored by: Sonja Kania, Chief Talent & Social Capital Officer

It’s always fun to give a SHOUT OUT to the folks that are committed to helping to recognize and support staff all across campus and Brittni is one of those employees!  Brittni has been a member of the Employee Engagement Council (EEC) at Norris since it started back in the Fall of 2017. Brittni is always willing to share feedback, ideas and help plan events across campus in order to help keep our staff engaged.  Brittni didn’t waste anytime joining this group either since she had only been working at Norris for less than one year when she decided to get involved in the EEC. Brittni has now been working at Norris for exactly two years and three months!! Brittni has always been in the role of a clinician and most recently completed her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).  Way to go Brittni!!! Besides being an active member of the EEC and a clinician on campus, Brittni prides herself in taking care of herself and ensuring a good work-life balance through spending quality time with family and friends. Please enjoy getting to know our December 2018 Employee Spotlight, Brittni Liebhauser. I know I did!!

What is your favorite Norris memory?

I really enjoyed the 100th Anniversary celebration that Norris hosted in September 2018.  It was great to have a casual, fun day for staff, kids and guests. One of my favorite parts was the Milwaukee Flyers. There is something really powerful about working for an organization that has been around for 100 years!

What is your favorite song of all time?

This is too hard!!  I enjoy all types of music; lots of country, sort of just depends on the day.

What was the last gift that you gave to someone?

Mostly Christmas gifts!  Our family gave each other tickets to a Badger Hockey game this year so that was fun.

What were you like in high school?

A little bit of everything!  I was an athlete; I played basketball and softball. I took a lot of college prep courses/AP and enjoyed hanging out with my friends.

If you received enough money to never need to work again, what would you spend your time doing?

Traveling! I would also take time to volunteer at animal rescues.

What is your favorite food to prepare (or eat)?

Tailgate food for sure!  I love burgers, brats, chips and dip…..

When was the last time you traveled somewhere new?

San Francisco this past summer

How do you spend your free time?

Friends, family, reading, Netflix (one of her favorite shows is still Grey’s Anatomy).

What is your most useless talent?

Deep cleaning/organizing

Who would play you in the Lifetime original movie of your teen years?

Sophia Bush (used to be on One Tree Hill).

What is the best advice that you have been given from staff when you started working here?

My old supervisor told me not to be afraid to ask questions and lean on “your people” when you needed them.

What would be your best advice for new staff at Norris?

Make sure you’re taking care of yourself.  Everyday.

What are you most proud of? Professionally? Personally?

Passing my LCSW exam!!  And the fact that I’ve been able to build up a really good “village” of people around me.
