Please welcome me in saying CONGRATULATIONS to T’Anna Holst for being selected as our October Employee Spotlight Winner! T’Anna received four shout outs for the month, which is super impressive!  She received numerous praises for her care with the youth, being a supportive team member, a hard worker, and a positive coworker; all while balancing work, school, and being a cat mom! Thank you T’Anna for ALL of your hard work, it is GREATLY appreciated!

I gave a fellow coworker a motivational wristband after he complimented me on mine.

What were you like in high school?
I was a Band nerd and a teacher’s pet. I played the flute.

If you received enough money to never need to work again, what would you spend your time doing?
I would be working on an elephant sanctuary in Africa. I am in a foster program where I adopted a rescued baby elephant that is currently in a sanctuary, and I get updates on how they are doing.

Tacos and nachos

What is the best advice that you have been given from staff when you started working here?
Don’t take things the kids say to you personally. It’s most likely something they are struggling with not anything they are feeling about you.

What would be your best advice for new staff at Norris?
Remember to have fun. At the end of the day, they are kids and want to have fun.
Be your genuine self. They can tell when you aren’t being genuine.
