Norris Employee Spotlight: Kyla Sanders, Clinical Support Specialist

Authored by: Sonja Kania, Chief Talent & Social Capital Officer

Kyla Sanders has been an integral part of the Norris team for the last 12 years.  Kyla first got her start at Norris as a youth care staff working directly with the adolescent boys on the units and at school. Kyla now helps to support the entire Residential team (and much of the Norris campus) through her role as the Clinical Support Specialist. Kyla tends to be the “go to” person for many of our staff, youth and visitors when it comes to questions, assistance with projects, and just a warm, welcoming personality.

Kyla was recently recognized by her peers for always being willing to help out with new projects, tasks or various events happening across campus. But the really amazing thing about Kyla is that she tends to jump into projects with such ENTHUSIASM and EXCITEMENT that it can oftentimes be contagious to her peers and the youth! Kyla is always willing to help out and always has a smile on her face. Kyla is the first person to think about recognizing the staff that are working on holidays, extra shifts, etc. Kyla has worked on the units with the boys and so she recognizes how important it is to take time out of our busy schedules to support one another (which often involves bringing in homemade treats)!  Kyla is also the person responsible for helping with scheduling of appointments, transportation, visits, etc. for the youth staying on campus and truly takes pride in ensuring communication is a top priority because oftentimes there are multiple people involved in planning and decision making.

Congratulations Kyla!  You truly deserve the recognition and “spotlight” for the month (and really throughout the entire year).  THANK YOU so much for your ongoing commitment to supporting our Norris family, which includes both the staff and our kids staying here on campus!!

Stay tuned for more Employee Spotlights in the coming months!
